On December 21, 2012; earth was slowly being destroyed. Not from events or causes on the planet, but from the sun itself. On December 21, 2012, the sun had begun to turn into a red giant, destroying anything in its path. All the countries on earth agreed to set down arms, and work together to save themselves. Operation Savior begun.
By the middle of 2013, the sun had hit devoured Mercury, and was heading for Venus. Operation Savior had come up with a solution. In order to save the human race, they would have to escape the sun's wrath. In order to survive, the human race would have to relocate, but the main question was to where? Some said to Mars others said to space.
After a month of debating over what to do, it was agreed that the human race would escape to Mars. As it got hotter on earth, all the great minds worked together to begin colonizing mars. It wasn't hard after everyone started to work together. By the fall of 2013, right before Venus was destroyed, Mars' first colony was established and working. Central City was created.
Soon, more colonies were created, and the surfaces of Mars was turned into a lush green land just like earth. Water was ran underground and large cities formed. As the rich escaped earth first, and then as time neared earth's destruction, some of the poor got away and moved to mars.
At the dawn of the near ear, it was established that Mars would not be several countries but one single nation. By 5 A.E. the Mars Republic was established. It is operated much like the United States' government with a hint of socialism. The corporation that had helped fund Mars was allowed to monopolize everything, and soon Mars had grown into two powers; the corporation and then the government.
Life on Mars is peaceful and great. The sun has slowly started to go back to normal, so things on Mars have started to change by 10 A.E. People began to fear that life would fade as the sun shrunk back to normal, but as faith has it, the sun also pulled the planets with it. Thanks to the asteroid field between the sun and Mars, life on Mars was fine.
By 30 A.E. a Mars renowned scientist named Jason Rose had begun a mining operation out in the mountains of Mars. He was researching a rare metal that would help power Mars for years. Instead of finding more of the metal, Jason's crew found a air pocket. Inside that air pocket was a dormant virus that had killed the last race that was on the planet. The virus infected the crew and caused them to go mad. They had turned into what the public views as vampires.
The virus made the infected very aggressive, and strong. The only side effect of it is they become allergic to the sun and had to feed on human blood. They no longer were human, for when the virus first was released, they became animals. The Vanguard Corporation sent in the military to put down these 'animals' and all they managed to do is spread the virus more. As the soldiers quickly became infected and overwhelmed by the infected.
A month after the incident at Youswell, the vampires began showing signs of intelligence as they calmed down and began to organize themselves into a working group. A leader was placed, and it was none other then Jason Rose - Uriel d'Angoulême. The vampires then strike several unguarded towns outside the cities and took over the population. Like the town of Youswell, these infected went mad and attacked anyone that wasn't already infected.
The vampires took over three small towns in little under a year. By 31 A.E., the vampires organized themselves into a monarchy type government and have titled their empire the Blood Surge Empire. In order to save themselves, the Vanguard Corporation has created a elite team of hunters to hunt down the vampires, but this has prove to no effect to the vampires for the vampires outnumber the hunters 5 to 1. By 35 A.E., the humans and vampires have been at each other's throats trying to control Mars.
